Forschungsschwerpunkt Our main research interest is the reconstruction of atmospheric and climatic conditions in the past using ice cores from high-mountain glaciers. Current projects include: Reconstructing paleo fires based on the analysis of black carbon and specific molecular tracers Determining the effect on chemical impurities on the darkening of glaciers Studying the location of chemicals in ice crystals Estimating the release of pollutants from melting glaciers Investigating the emissions of heavy metals from mining activities Website of the research group
